ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to a Partner, the Senior Manager/Principal will play a critical role in overseeing various aspects of the firm’s operations, client engagements and team members. This role will offer a challenging and diverse range of responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scheduling, supervising, training, and mentoring junior staff.
- Reviewing financial statements, corporate income tax returns (T2), partnership returns (T5013), trust returns (T3), information filings (T4s and T5s) and financial forecast/projections to be presented to clients.
- Reviewing/assisting with planning and preparing client year-end files that include audit review, compilation engagements and tax returns.
- Professional interaction with clients, CRA, and staff.
- Collaborating with the senior leadership team to ensure establishment and commitment to firm standards.
RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- CPA, CA, or equivalent designation.
- 10+ years of public accounting experience with exposure to the performance of audit and assurance, NTR, and tax engagements at a similar firm.
- 5+ years of experience at the manager or senior manager level.
- In-depth knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, and CAS.
- Proficiency in both corporate and personal Canadian income tax.
- Strong technical skills in CCH, Caseware, Caseview, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong business acumen, organization and time-management abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high level of integrity, commitment, and professionalism.
COMPENSATION AND REMUNERATION
This position offers a base salary of $150,000 – $165,000 depending on experience, health insurance, four weeks of vacation, mileage allowance, and professional dues.
