ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager is responsible for:
- Building and leading a strong business development/sales team
- Developing and running successful sales programs and campaigns
- Generating sales growth, through intelligent business development activities.

You will be involved in the process of supporting projects for the expansion plans of our client, by running sales programs, running campaigns, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and researching market trends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
- Effectively lead and engage the Sales team to enhance growth, reach targets, and overall departmental goals
- Proactively develop leads, and campaigns to drive sales growth for the company and reach the goal of growing new business leads across Ontario and Western Canada
- Gather market knowledge, identify market opportunities and develop strategies to successfully on-board new accounts ensuring standards of brand, profitability and market understanding.
- Generates sales growth and profit objectives through sales activities including territory planning, new client acquisition, client relationship building, territory prospecting, and marketing
- Leverage the company’s core values and strengths to engage long-term customers and build long-term relationships.
- Conducts strategic quarterly business reviews and manages account retention.
- Works in partnership with sales management to optimize engagement for new growth, ensuring the development of sales consistent with growth strategy.
- You will aggressively pursue expansion of the collection operations to landlords and property owners. In addition to assisting with any lead generation and contact for corporations, and municipalities.
- Manage existing clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retain business
- Handle client objections by clarifying information, emphasizing benefits and working through differences to ensure a positive conclusion
- Liaise with management to determine organizational strategy and initiatives
- Provide/consult feedback and information on emerging trends
- Looking for potential business sites (standalone building or Trailer to be parked in high traffic area) to attract more donors.
- Looking for a partnership with charities, not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities/cities strategically to fulfill the store demands and to increase third-party sales.
- Must be an analytical thinker, to run the analysis based on the current resources, future partnerships, and Return on Investment.
- Must have knowledge of business proposals, building RFPs, and working closely with partners.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Successful at working independently with a sense of urgency, a high level of customer focus and attention to detail.
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), decision-making and issue-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated successful experience with team selling and cross-functional or matrix management structures.
- Must possess the ability to design, develop and write proposals
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office/365 products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Valid driver’s licence with the ability to travel when required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Business management, sales, marketing graduate
- Minimum three years of previous sales and team management experience.
- Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies, programs, and campaigns.
